TEXTILE ACCESSORIES

The textile jewels are created using different materials and techniques.
So there is the crocheting with copper thread, the colouring and manipulation of silk, the buttoning and needling, the weaving with sticks and leather, the sticking in and needling on of pearls.
In the collection of textile jewels you will find earrings, earpinchers, earstickers. There are also bracelets, necklaces and brooches.
Besides the jewels the collection contains a series of hip-belts or waste-belts. Some of them can be worn as a necklace.
Renate Els stands by the fact that all objects can have a life of their own. The person that wears them can therefor also experiment with them.
An important element in the collection are the little bags (purses), bags and handbags. Some of the belts have one or more little bag attached to them. You’ll find hip-bags (pockets), bags to hold celphones and handbags in painted or batiked silk. Notwithstanding their decorations with threads, buttons, pearls, etc. they keep their natural sobriety.
Art must have content. The unique pieces can be considered as little works of art.
Therefor a number of bags and handbags were created with content, such as: shopping bags, healing bags, bags for pets, security bags.... Every bag has a surprising content!
The last ones are handwoven and they contain a needled cotton bag with the imprint of the material on it.
